Visit to Milton Grundy’s Japanese Garden, which Mr Grundy designed with the artist Viacheslav Atroshenko, with whom he had visited Kyoto, and Japanese designer, Mr Kasmoto. The Grade II* garden is a careful balance of Japanese ideas and plants partly below the canopy of a large horse chestnut, with a pool, a raked gravel garden inspired by the Ryoan-Ji temple, mosses (about 70 different species) and a stream. The garden should be in full autumn colour at the time of the visit.
