25th Anniversary Events

Tree Walk: Langley Park SL0 0LS   led by Michael Hunt

Sunday May 22nd 11.00; £10 (20 places)

A spring treat to this former hunting ground for our own hunt led by Mr. Hunt to hunt out the Rhododendrons in the Temple Garden and the impressive Redwoods, also the scarce “Headache Tree”. Duration 1.5 hours.

Terrain: stone/gravel tracks and bridleway, some grass also. Meet by the café in the car park.

Garden Visit: The Walled Garden, Wormsley, Stokenchurch, HP14 3YE

Friday May 27th 14.00: £20 Refreshments included (50 places)

Wormsley is the private home of the Getty family. We will enjoy a guided tour of the two-acre former kitchen garden. It has an abundance of close planting, redesigned by Penelope Hobhouse into four garden rooms. Car parking.

Garden Visit: Turn End, Haddenham HP17 8BG

Wednesday 8th June 14.00 £15 Refreshments included (50 places).

This is the private garden of one of the iconic C20 group of properties designed by the renowned architect Peter Aldington. Jackie Hunt, the Head Gardener at Turn End, will lead a tour of the garden. The artist in residence will have her studio open. Parking on road, no car park.

Tree Walk: Tomkins Arboretum, Winslow MK18 3EB  Michael Hunt

Tuesday 14th June 14.30 £10(20 places).

A gem of five acres which was formerly the northern part of the gardens of adjacent Winslow Hall. A fine selection of trees with a rare Laurel Leaf Oak. Duration 1.5 hours. Terrain: mainly on grass. Meet at the entrance to the Arboretum in the free car park in Greyhound Lane. 

Garden Visit: Eythrope, Waddesdon HP18 0JH

Wednesday 22nd June 10.00 £50 includes three course lunch at the Manor Restaurant(20 places). 

A Rothschild family garden. A private bus will take us to Eythrope from the free car park at Waddesdon Manor for a tour of this beautiful four-acre walled garden, with orchard and glass houses. After lunch you will be free to enjoy the gardens and facilities of Waddesdon.
